English Council Elections
There are elections for 87 district councils (either a third or a half of all council seats being up for election depending on the authority), 36 Metropolitan Borough Councils and 19 Unitary Authorities (in all of which a third of the seats are up for election). There are approximately 2,500 seats up for election in total.
If the BNP contests a sixth of these seats then it will qualify for a Party Political Broadcast. It is our intention to surpass this total by a significant number of seats. This will be the first time that any Nationalist Party has qualified for a Party Political Broadcast outside of the General Election or the European Elections. This will be an important and significant first. All units in every part of the country can contribute towards achieving this milestone.
Our strategy remains that units should fight as many seats as possible but should focus their energies and activist resources in a small number of carefully selected and worked target wards.
